The primary objective of the Newham Intensive Intervention Project (IIP) is to improve outcomes for some of the most vulnerable and challenging young people in society and improve outcomes for the communities in which they live.
The project aims to:
- significantly reduce anti-social behaviour
- reduce crime
- improve participation in education and training
- reduce homelessness
Newham IIP gives young people personal and practical support to help them address problems and issues in their lives.
Each young person will receive intensive one to one support from the project worker who will help them identify an achievable way forward. They will also attend group activities with other young people.
With appropriate support, these young people will grow in self confidence, motivation, aspiration and achievement, often progressing into education or employment.
