Gateway SDP Service - Southend

Who we are

Gateway, CRI Substance Misuse Service, provides a wide range of support and treatment programmes to people aged 18 and over who have problems related to substance misuse.

You can refer yourself directly to us or you can be referred by any relevant professional agency in the Southend area.

We provide a flexible, confidential treatment and support service and will work with you to help minimise the harmful effects of your substance misuse.

Our services include

Structured day programme (SDP)

A range of group work programmes including a structured day programme, anger management, stress or anxiety management, cannabis and stimulant groups and relapse prevention.

Complementary therapies

Including auricular acupuncture, meditation and relaxation groups as well as the provision of herbal teas to assist sleep, lung problems and detoxification.

One-to-one structured counselling

Offers an opportunity for clients to explore and address the underlying issues of their substance misuse in a safe and supportive environment.

Drug rehabilitation requirement (DRR) service

Working with clients, subject to community orders from the courts and under the supervision of the Probation Service, by providing a range of approved group work interventions as well as drug testing and one-to-one key working.

Needle exchange

A discreet service promoting safer injecting practices and healthier lifestyle choices through the provision of clean injecting materials and harm minimisation advice.
